The Rotary Club of Grenada continued its tradition of service and community support by organising and hosting a Christmas party on 11 December 2025, for the 71 students plus staff of the Grenada School for Special Education at Quarantine Recreational Park.
The festive event featured a special visit from Santa Claus, who delighted the students with holiday cheer. Gifts were distributed to the children, generously donated by the Rotary Club of Grenada. The children received a double treat as the Honourable Andy Williams, Parliamentary Representative for South St George, also visited, bearing gifts.
This Christmas celebration forms part of the Rotary Club’s long-standing relationship with the Grenada School for Special Education. The Rotary Club of Grenada played a pivotal role in the establishment of the school in 1976, in collaboration with Canadian Rotary clubs, and has remained a committed partner ever since. Over the years, the Rotary Club of Grenada has consistently supported initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare, education, and inclusion of students with special needs.
Rotary President Julia Lawrence noted, “This event reflects the true spirit of Rotary. We improve lives…we brighten lives. It is always a privilege to share the Christmas season with the students and staff of the Grenada School for Special Education, a cause that has been close to our club’s heart for decades.”
The Rotary Club of Grenada extends sincere thanks to its corporate sponsors and partners whose generosity made the event possible, including Tropical Catering, Waggy T Rentals, St George’s University, Sugar and Spice, S Kumar, Deloni Edwards, and all other contributors.
The Rotary Club of Grenada remains committed to service above self and looks forward to continuing its work in support of education, inclusion, and community development across Grenada.
