The general public is informed that effective Thursday, 17 July 2025, Main Street between Church Street and Patterson Street, Hillsborough, Carriacou, will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic.
As a result, the following traffic arrangements will be in effect for the period of the closure:
- Motorists wishing to get to lower Main Street from 1st Avenue or Patterson Street will travel southward on 1st Avenue, turn right onto Church Street, then turn left onto Main Street
- No vehicular traffic will be allowed to travel on 1st Avenue from the direction of Church Street toward Patterson Street
- No left turn will be allowed onto Main Street from Patterson Street
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise caution when using the roads, especially the areas affected by this road closure.
The Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, along with the Carriacou Police Station, sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. However, this closure has become necessary in order to facilitate emergency repairs/upgrade to the drainage along Main Street.
