As part of its continued commitment to community development and empowerment, Nexa Credit Union has made a meaningful contribution of French, Spanish, and English dictionaries to His Majesty’s Prisons Rehabilitation Unit.

This donation supports the ongoing educational programs designed to give inmates a second chance by equipping them with essential tools for personal growth and reintegration into society.

Education, whether traditional or vocational, remains one of the most powerful agents of change, and Nexa is proud to support initiatives that foster transformation and provide opportunities for individuals to rebuild their lives. “Nexa is deeply rooted in the values of community, inclusion, and empowerment,” said Randy Frank, Deputy General Manager of Nexa Credit Union. “We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to change their story, and supporting the Prison Rehabilitation Unit aligns with our vision of a society where every individual has the chance to grow, contribute, and thrive.”

The Prison Rehabilitation Unit continues to play a vital role in transforming lives through structured educational programs, vocational training, psychosocial support and school and community outreach. The programme caters to inmates aged 18 and older, and covers basic literacy up to CXC level material, sporting activities, and various skills training. Head of the Rehabilitation Unit Leon Cornwall said, “It serves as a deterrent for repeat offences. Approximately 80% of the inmates involved in the Rehab Programme do not return to prison.” With the help of community partners like Nexa, these efforts are amplified, creating ripples of hope and positive change that extend far beyond the walls of His Majesty’s Prisons.

This initiative forms part of Nexa’s broader social responsibility agenda, which prioritises education, wellness, and financial empowerment for all segments of society. By investing in second chances, Nexa reinforces its belief that it is WITH YOU, wherever your road leads and that strong communities are built when no one is left behind.
