  • IMA will tour West Africa in October 2025 to market CBI programme
  • Nigeria currently represents the largest demographic in Africa applying to the CBI
  • Several Kenyans approved under CBI in last quarter of 2024

Thomas Anthony, Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Migration Agency (IMA) has announced that Grenada will be focusing on marketing the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) programme to Africa. A team from the agency will be embarking on a tour of West Africa in October 2025.

Anthony who was part of the panel at the 4th AfriCaribbean Investment and Trade Forum held in Grenada, discussing the topic “A showcase of Grenada’s Investment: Trade, Business and Tourism” said that Nigeria currently represents the largest demographic in Africa applying to the CBI, and the plan is to extend it to nationals of other African nations.

“We have been exploring more African countries; more recently, we were in Kenya in collaboration with the Nairobi Chamber of Commerce, and at that event, we had more than 100 individuals attending, and we believe that we will see some fruit from that event,” he said. “We also had a private event with 42 individuals, and my understanding is that 25% of those have expressed an interest in applying to the programme. We do have plans later this year for a West Africa tour, in October to be more precise, and to explore Ghana as a new market for the Citizenship by Investment programme,” he disclosed.

Anthony said, “We are trying to grow the demographic coming out of Africa, but we are also playing our part in creating that bridge between Africa, Grenada and the Caribbean at large and allowing individuals to make investments into Grenada, but also as I said earlier, protecting those investments by becoming citizens of Grenada. It doesn’t hurt that you then enhance your global mobility, your ability to travel to more than 145 countries.”

Publicly available data from the Investment Migration Agency, which was formally called the CBI Unit, shows that several Kenyans were approved as new citizens of Grenada under the CBI in the last quarter of 2024.

This is madness. CBI/IMA must be cancelled and all citizenship granted revoked.

    Time vote out NDC
