  • In Grenada, Johnson was charged with 6 counts of sexual intercourse with a minor
  • First court appearance on Monday, 28 April at St George’s Magistrate Court
  • Johnson was fined EC$280 and EC$220 for breaching St Vincent’s immigration laws

Roger Johnson, a man who was declared wanted by the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) in February 2025 for questioning in connection with the offence of Sexual Intercourse with a Minor, was captured in St Vincent earlier this week, and charged with several immigration law violations before being handed over to law enforcement in Grenada.

A 25 April press release from the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force said that it had charged Roger Johnson, a national of Grenada, for breaching the state’s immigration laws. According to preliminary investigations, between 1–28 February 2025, Johnson unlawfully entered the state of St Vincent and the Grenadines. “He entered the state other than at a port of entry, contrary to Section 10(1) of the Immigration (Restriction) Act, Chapter 114 of the Revised Laws of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, 2009. He entered by boat and disembarked without the consent of an immigration officer, in violation of Section 10(2) of the same Act.”

On 23 April, Johnson appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court, where he pleaded guilty to both charges. For entering the state other than at a port of entry, he was fined EC$280, payable forthwith, and in default of payment, he will serve 3 months at His Majesty’s Prison. For entering the state by boat and disembarking without the consent of an immigration officer, he was fined EC$220, payable by 24 April 2025. Failure to pay this fine will result in a concurrent sentence of 3 months’ imprisonment. A removal order was also issued for his deportation.

The Community Relations arm of the RGPF issued a public release on 26 April, informing that Roger Johnson, a 48-year-old taxi driver, resident of Mt Granby, St John, wanted by the police in connection with the offence of sexual intercourse with a minor, had been apprehended. According to the release, Johnson was captured in St Vincent on Saturday, 19 April by members of the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, and was officially handed over to the RGPF on Thursday, 24 April.

Following his return to Grenada, Johnson was charged with 6 counts of sexual intercourse with a minor. He remains in custody and is expected to make his first court appearance at the St George’s Magistrate Court on Monday, 28 April.
