In commemoration of the United Nations’ World Day of Social Justice, the World Mission Society Church of God successfully carried out its “Hold Hope!” food drive campaign, providing essential food items to families in need throughout Grenada and its sister islands.

The official handover of donations took place on Thursday, 27 February 2025, at 9:30 am in front of the Parliament Building, where church members met with Administrative Officer Personnel Lystra Williams of the Ministry of Social and Community Development, Housing, and Gender Affairs.

Neatly organised boxes of donated goods — including rice, flour, canned goods, cooking oil, and other staple food items — were handed over after a group photo in front of the Parliament Building. The donated items will be distributed to 15 families of four across all 6 parishes in Grenada, as well as Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Church members also plan to accompany community leaders in distributing the donations to ensure direct support reaches those in need.

Lystra Williams expressed her gratitude on behalf of the government, stating, “On behalf of the government and people of Grenada, I wish to say a happy thank you for your kind contribution towards making the lives of our citizens a little bit easier.”

The “Hold Hope!” campaign not only seeks to alleviate poverty by providing food assistance to economically and socially vulnerable groups but also aims to foster the value of a shared community and spread God’s love, embracing all of humanity as one family.

World Mission Society Church of God is a global Christian organisation with over 7,500 branches in more than 175 countries. The church actively engages in humanitarian efforts worldwide, inspired by the teachings of Christ to serve communities with love with the love of a mother. Through initiatives such as environmental cleanups, blood drives, disaster relief efforts, and food assistance initiatives, the Church of God strives to improve the quality of life for individuals and families across the globe. The church’s members are dedicated to promoting the values of unity, volunteerism, and sustainable development, working in partnership with local governments and international organisations to create lasting positive change.
