The 48th Regular Meeting of Caricom Heads of Government convenes in Bridgetown, Barbados from 19–21 February 2025.
Centered around the theme “Strength in Unity: Forging Caribbean Resilience, Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development,” the conference will address matters on the regional agenda, including climate change, food and nutrition security and finance, the ongoing challenges in Haiti, regional security, digital resilience and the Caricom Single Market and Economy (CSME).
The Heads of Government will also seek to discuss Maritime and Air Transport, as well as reparations over the 2 days.
The meeting’s opening ceremony will take place in the afternoon of Wednesday, 19 February at the Lord Erskine Sandiford Centre, Bridgetown, where Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell, the outgoing chairman, is scheduled to deliver remarks reflecting on his chairmanship of the Caribbean Community.
Hon. Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, will also deliver remarks as the new Chair of Caricom. Additionally, the new Premier of Montserrat Hon. Reuben T Meade, and Caricom Secretary-General Dr Carla Barnett, Special Guests, Secretary-General of the United Nations, H E António Guterres, and the President of the European Commission H E Ursula von der Leyen, will also address the ceremony.
Grenada’s delegation will include Honourable Joseph Andall, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development, and Aaron Moses, Grenada Ambassador to Caricom.
Hon. Andy Williams, Minister for Mobilisation, Implementation, and Transformation, will act as Prime Minister in the absence of Hon. Dickon Mitchell.
