The Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA) is thrilled to announce that its President Kendra Hopkin has been appointed as the 4th Vice President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) during the CHTA Annual General Meeting held virtually on 17 September 2024.

Additionally, GHTA’s Chief Executive Officer Arlene Friday has been appointed as Vice President of the Caribbean Society of Hotel Association Executives (CSHAE). These appointments signify a remarkable opportunity for Grenada to make an indelible mark in the Caribbean tourism and association landscape.

Hopkin’s election to the CHTA leadership team underscores her dedication to advancing tourism in Grenada and the wider Caribbean region. With her extensive experience and passion for sustainable tourism practices, Hopkin is poised to influence key policies and initiatives that will benefit the industry as a whole. Her leadership will help elevate Grenada’s profile as a leading destination in the Caribbean.

In parallel, Friday’s appointment as Vice President of the CSHAE further enhances Grenada’s representation in regional association management. This role will enable her to collaborate with other association leaders, share best practices, and promote effective governance across the Caribbean. The GHTA is excited about the potential for increased collaboration and innovation that these roles will bring to Grenada and the region.

“Today marks a significant milestone for Grenada, as we step onto the regional stage with renewed vigor and purpose,” said Hopkin. “These appointments are not just personal achievements; they are a testament to the collective strength of our tourism and association sectors. Together, we will work diligently to promote sustainable practices and enhance the visitor experience in Grenada and throughout the Caribbean.”

Friday echoed this sentiment, stating, “I am honoured to represent Grenada in this capacity. Our participation in these organisations will allow us to advocate for our industry’s needs and contribute to the growth and sustainability of tourism in the Caribbean.”

The GHTA is committed to fostering a vibrant and sustainable tourism environment in Grenada. With these recent appointments, the association aims to leverage its influence to drive positive change and showcase Grenada’s unique offerings to the world.
