Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell, with sadness, learned this morning of the death of Michael ‘Mic Stokes’ Heyliger, the father of Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, The Honourable Dr Terrance Drew.

Heyliger was a celebrated musician and songwriter in the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis with renown across the Caribbean region and internationally.

Prime Minister Mitchell extends to Prime Minister Drew and his family, as well as to the people of St Kitts and Nevis, his deepest sympathy and condolences.

“I pray that our Heavenly Father will ease the anguish of your bereavement and leave you with only cherished memories,” Prime Minister Mitchell said.

“Please be assured of the support of the Government and people of Grenada. We keep you and your family, friends, and the people of St Kitts and Nevis in our prayers and hearts during this time of profound loss.”

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
