The recently elected executive of the Grenada Bodybuilding, Weightlifting and Fitness Federation (GBBWF), originally the Grenada Amateur Bodybuilding Federation, met on 2 occasions to chart the way forward for the new year 2023 and beyond.

The members of the executive elected on 5 November 2022 include:

  • Cecil Mitchell, President
  • Marcus Alexander, Vice President
  • Chedel Gibbs, Secretary
  • Hadasha Buckmire, Treasurer
  • Jimmy Duprey, Secretary-Treasurer
  • Troy Gill, Public Relations Officer

Among key areas of focus is the development of the 2023 Strategic Plan, ensuring athletes are registered with the Federation whilst securing opportunities for their participation in local, regional and international competitions and events.

Pivotal to its role over the next 2-year period is providing support to all athletes in the various categories, including facilitating developmental sessions, workshops, training for athletes and coaches, fundraisers and other activities so the sport can continue to develop and thrive.

The Federation will continue with its mandate to enhance the sport of bodybuilding and weightlifting locally so Grenada can continue to be recognised on the regional and international stage.
