3 Grenadian services producers are back home after participating in the 8th annual convention of the Latin American Association of Exporters of Services (ALES), in the Dominican Republic.
Participating under Theme “How to Develop High Value-Added Service Exports” the 3 local companies were among over 300 service companies from United States and Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, representing 17 delegate countries as well as export and investment promotion organisations, chambers of commerce, and exporters’ associations, and was seen as a key opportunity to propel Latin-America’s position in the services sector.
Quoting a convention official, Jude Bernard, Chairman of the Grenada Coalition of Services Industries (GCSI), which secured the participation of the 3 entities, said, “The ALES Convention provided a unique scenario in which, besides knowing the last trends in the market, there was the opportunity for participating companies to identify business and investment opportunities in the service sectors and to do networking with the main CEOs and leaders at the international level.”
The 3 companies that attended the 2-day convention, which concluded on Friday, 26 October had also participated in the GCSI-hosted Services Go Global, certificated programme in 2017, with the assistance of Caribbean Export Development Agency.
