Hundreds of school children in Grenada got a special treat from the Sandals Foundation this year, when it partnered with Hasbro Inc., one of the worlds’ leading play and entertainment companies, for its annual Holiday Toy Drive.
Hasbro Inc. provided Monopoly, Game of Life, Cranium, Connect 4, Disney Dolls and many other fun games and toys for the children of the Samaritan Presbyterian School, Happy Hill Pre-primary School, St Joseph’s RC School and Springs Preprimary School.
Public Relations Coordinator for Sandals La Source, Deleon Forrester shared her excitement over the initiative: “We had a blast this year with the Toy Drive! We chose schools and communities that had never experienced a Sandals Foundation Toy Drive and the reception was heartwarming. In addition to the gifts, we brought treats to the schools and did a bit of carolling to add to their Holiday parties and we really had a great time.”
The Sandals Toy Drive is an annual activity by the philanthropic arm of the world’s leading luxury-included resort, as part of its mandate to give back to the communities in which it operates. Over the past years, the Sandals Foundation has distributed thousands of gifts to schoolchildren not only in Grenada but throughout the region.
“The Sandals Foundation Toy Drive encourages everyone to get involved in giving. It is a resort-wide activity, as all staff and guests get involved in the gift wrapping. We wrapped 800 gifts in 3 days,” boasted Supratik Guha, Hotel Manager at Sandals La Source.
The Foundation has found a most willing partner in Hasbro, which has, through its ‘Play Relief” efforts, committed an additional 7,500 toys to children in the Bahamas and Haiti impacted by Hurricane Matthew.
Sandals Foundation encourages everyone to share at #InspireJoyWithAToy how they are helping to spread happiness this Holiday Season.
