The Grenada Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) continues to make huge strides in its goal to assist with the creation of jobs within the five priority sectors for investment. Its partnership with Clear Harbor over the last seven years is indeed testimony to this mission. Clear Harbor commenced operations in the Frequente Industrial Park in 2007 and provides customer care and business process outsourcing services which fall under the priority sector of information communications technology (ICT).
Clear Harbor is now expanding operations in Grenada. GIDC is concluding renovations on approximately 12,000 square feet of additional space for the company. The expansion project commenced in early September and was divided into two phases. In record time, GIDC was able to complete phase one which was handed over to Clear Harbor on 20 October 2014. The second phase is in progress and is scheduled to be completed by early December this year.
Operating throughout three buildings in the Frequente Industrial Park, Clear Harbor leases a total of approximately 36,000 square feet of space from GIDC and presently has a workforce of 640 employees. From January 2014 to date, 265 positions have been created, and more growth is projected for 2015. Mr Ronald Theodore, Acting CEO of GIDC said “GIDC endeavours to do its part in reducing Grenada’s unemployment rate and applauds the management of Clear Harbor for their continued confidence in Grenada as one of the preferred locations to do business.”
GIDC thanked all the vendors and contractors working steadfastly on this project and in particular, Western Electronic, ISLA Consulting & Advisory Inc, Viking Engineering, Eco-Construction Services and I Install.
