Woburn Methodist School to benefit from Flamboyant Hotel & Villas Mother’s Day Auction and Bingo

Woburn Methodist School (2)The Flamboyant Hotel & Villas will be donating proceeds from its Mother’s Day Auction and Bingo competition to the Woburn Methodist School.

The annual initiative is part of the Hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme in which it gives back to the community.

Last year’s recipients were the Pink Ribbon Society and the Queen Elizabeth Home for Children for both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day promotions respectively. Past recipients also include the Grenada Kidney Foundation, the Cancer Society and White Cane Industry.

“Charity is an integral part of every community as it brings harmony by bridging the gap between the fortunate in life and the less fortunate. The main objective of charities is to help the less fortunate in terms of getting proper medical care, improving living conditions and even assisting in the proper education of those who can hardly manage to get it,” said Randall Dolland, Sales and Marketing Manager, Flamboyant Hotel and Villas.

“Our goal is to increase the amount that we can actually give this year and hopefully we can have the support of the public going forward. Even though we are challenged with tough economic times, it is always important to find, where ever we can to give to those who are in need.”

Woburn Methodist School (3)In keeping with its corporate social responsibility, the Flamboyant Hotel has been providing meals every Thursday for the past 10 years, to the residents of the Grand Anse Garden Home for the Aged.

The hotel has been in operation for 23 years and has become well known for opening its doors to the local market and hosting activities for calendar events during the year.

The principal thanked the hotel for its intended contribution to the development of the institution. “As a learning institution, our aim is to provide our students with a solid, well rounded education that will serve them for a lifetime. We all know that education is a very expensive commodity. Therefore, as a school, we gracefully embrace private sector partnership to help us fulfil this mandate. Many thanks and sincerest appreciation to The Flamboyant Hotel for affording us the pleasure of being this year’s recipient. Hence, we pledge the public’s support in this charitable venture” said Richard Japal, Principal, Woburn Methodist School.
