British Airways (BA) and Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA) have announced final flights from Grenada ahead of the new lockdown period announced for the United Kingdom.

However, officials from both airlines say flights are scheduled to resume to the destination in early December after the 4-week lockdown period.

Virgin Atlantic’s last flight to Grenada before the UK lockdown was Thursday, 5 November while British Airways’ last flight is carded for Wednesday, 11 November. British Airways from London Gatwick and Virgin Atlantic flying from Heathrow, the first long haul flights to Grenada since March were specially welcomed by the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) at the Maurice Bishop International Airport in the last week of October.

In addressing the fluid situation, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) Patricia Maher commented, “We are actively engaged with both airlines on the future resumption of flights to Grenada. We look forward to partnering with the airlines to bring more visitors to Pure Grenada, the Spice of the Caribbean, in December and for 2021.”

It’s not false data. It is bad here. We have lost friends and at present have others who are very ill.
We were due to return to your lovely island for the 18th time but sadly can not due to lockdown.

The lockdown in England has been proven to be based on false data, created and graphed by scientists who lie, and then change the data before anyone notices. Except that people have noticed and are furious about it. Keep safe.

What nonsense ..false data yesterday 32,000 new cases and over 550 dead..you need your head tested..you stay here and behave yourself.

Well I’d booked for antigua on 9th December which is post lockdown and it’s just been cancelled. Think there’s a lot of politics behind this somewhere…..

    Think about this!
Have the health authorities in Grenada has any case of Covi19 patient that had them on their feet since March 2020?
Had the health authorities has number of cases that overwhelmed the health care sector?
Has the cases from March to present treated at home or hospital?
Cases who came in, undetected, went home got sick, recovered and now have positive antigen test, who treated them and why are they alive and kicking still.

UK Gov are discouraging flights during this current lockdown……. Can only guess that Minister Steel is being appropriately cautious for Grenada. Truth is its out there…..

It would seriously affect tourism if you did not allow people from England to come, as the vast majority are English. With the statutory health requirements it should be safe.

I thought you didn’t want tourists coming from England anyway Storm??

There are so many conflicting statements on this one is in limbo trying to understand who is telling the truth on this matter.

I 100% agree, coming from someone whose flight was cancelled in October not once but twice.
