The National Training Agency held its last major Orientation session for trainees under the Skills for Inclusive Growth Project on Wednesday 27 February 2013 during a ceremony at Norton Hall.
More than 140 unemployed youths received orientation for technical and vocational training in seven programme areas including first time training programme — Housekeeping Level 1 and three Level 2 programmes in Data Operations and General Cosmetology respectively.
Wednesday’s Orientation brought to 46 the number of training programmes started under the OECS (Grenada) Skills for Inclusive Growth Project.
Mrs Kay Julien-Gutu, Communications Officer at the NTA, said that more than 900 young people between the ages of 18 and 30 have been registered for training since the commencement of the training component of the Project in 2010.
The Skills for Inclusive Growth Project Project comes to an end in September 2013. The training takes approximately seven months to complete. Upon successful completion trainees will receive either Level 1 or Level 2 National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Certification.
