The Grenada government has reiterated its gratitude for all the assistance it has been receiving to combat Covid-19.
Speaking during a recent presentation of funds to the Ministry of Health from CIBC FirstCaribbean, Minister of Health, Hon. Nickolas Steele, expressed government’s thanks to the many generous donors to the ministry.
Minister Steele who was accompanied by other key officials involved in the national effort said he and his “fellow committee members are here so that the message is clear that all support given to the response team is gratefully received and acknowledged. We know that sacrifices are being made across the tri-island state to assist us in doing our best to mitigate the effects of Covid-19 on our communities. It is our promise to continue to wage this war. Contributions such as this one serve to reiterate the global mantra: We are all in this together!”
The donation of $10,000 will be used to acquire further stocks of essential test kits needed in the countrywide effort to stem the tide of the virus.
Senator, Hon. Norland Cox, concluded the occasion by stating, “We want to express our heartfelt thanks to CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank for their generous contribution and continued support to Grenada as we combat the Covid-19 pandemic.”

More fags and cognac for Mitchell and his cronies.
Indigenous Grenadians in particular and black people in general seem to be always preoccupied with the word “respect” while forgetting that the only respect that counts is “self-respect”. Without self-respect any people will eventually be relegated to the ash-cans and garbage heaps of history.
This lack of self-respect have made almost all of our most recent governments pride themselves in giving away the little resources of value that we have and then go beg for the benefits that the same resources they gave away would have generated.
Take for example our national banks, which should have been generating wealth for our citizens, we sold them and now we are like children waiting for some foreign banks or agency, which we helped to enrich or who want some from, to give us hand-outs.
We have not taken one second to understand that these foreign banks are just giving us a few cents on the dollar from the interest and profits that they made on our back. Not to mention the free publicity they get from given us the hand-outs.
As 2020 seem to be the year of reckoning for people who do not want to solve their own problems or use their brains, I hope that these government officials will start showing the young males and females of this nation better examples other than us being a beggar and debtor nation.
Wake up, Indigenous Grenadians, and demand that our governments provide “Made-in-Grenada”, sustainable solutions to ours problems. We are fed-up of begging and portrayal that begging is the only virtues for us to aspire to in our newspapers. No wonder many Indigenous Grenadian prefer to idle on the blocks and beg rather than work.
