Following the branch-level competitions, the thrilling 2-day finale of the Nexa–GUT National Primary School Games came to a spectacular close on Thursday, 3 April 2025.

After intense competition among the 7 branches/parishes, the St Andrew Branch once again showcased their dominance, securing their 29th championship title with an outstanding 613 points. St David Branch delivered an impressive performance to claim second place with 422 points, while the St George Branch earned a well-fought third place with 402 points.

From the opening event to the final relay, the atmosphere at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium was electric. The young athletes, fuelled by their parish pride and personal motivations, pushed themselves, delivering impressive and, in some events, record-breaking performances. To recognise these outstanding achievements, Nexa Credit Union will award every athlete who established a new record a $100 voucher to start or contribute to their Nexa Smart Saver account, helping them build a foundation for a bright future.

“At Nexa, we believe in empowering our youth — not just financially, but through opportunities that build character, discipline, and ambition,” said Retesha Smith–Boyd, General Manager at Nexa Credit Union. “Sport is a powerful tool for personal growth, and we are proud to partner with the Grenada Union of Teachers (GUT) to ensure that these games continue to inspire and empower our nation’s youth.”

The Nexa–GUT National Primary School Games are more than just a competition — they are a testament to the dedication of our young athletes and the incredible support system that fuels their success. Teachers, coaches, parents, and enthusiastic spectators all played a crucial role in making this event a triumph, fostering an environment where talent is nurtured and celebrated.

Nexa Credit Union remains deeply committed to investing in youth, sport, and the communities we serve. We extend our gratitude to every athlete, coach, volunteer, and supporter who contributed to the success of this year’s games. We eagerly anticipate another incredible showdown next year!
