The Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA) extends heartfelt gratitude to Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA), following her recent announcement regarding her decision not to renew her contract in June.

Under her exemplary leadership, Grenada’s tourism industry has flourished, and her contributions have significantly elevated the island’s status on the global tourism stage.

Throughout her tenure, Roach has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to showcasing Grenada as a premier tourist destination. Her innovative strategies and relentless dedication have not only heightened Grenada’s visibility but have also fostered a vibrant tourism ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders. The GHTA is particularly thankful for the collaborative spirit Roach has embodied, allowing us to partner on several pivotal initiatives, including the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) Marketplace, various regional roadshows and local initiatives. These partnerships have strengthened our collective efforts to promote Grenada and enhance the overall tourism product.

“Petra’s leadership has been nothing short of transformative for Grenada’s tourism sector,” stated Arlene Friday, CEO of the GHTA. “Her unwavering dedication to our island and her ability to foster collaboration within the industry have left an indelible mark. While we are saddened to see her go, we are grateful for her contributions and the strong foundation she has built. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours and look forward to continuing the momentum she has created.”

Roach’s vision and leadership have inspired countless individuals within the tourism sector, and her legacy will undoubtedly resonate for years to come. As we look to the future, we remain committed to building on the strong foundation she has laid and to continue working collaboratively to advance Grenada’s tourism industry.

On behalf of the GHTA and its members, we wish Petra Roach all the best in her future endeavours. Her passion for Grenada and its tourism sector will be greatly missed.
