It was an evening of glitz and glamour at the Sandals Grenada Annual Prestige Awards as team members and specially invited guests applauded outstanding team performance over the last year.

The Grenada Trade Centre served as the perfect backdrop for the highly anticipated soiree, featuring sparkling decor, stylishly dressed attendees, and an impressive array of food, beverages, awards, and entertainment.

At show time, One Unit Dance Grenada gave a most riveting opening performance. Special hosts Akiera Patterson and Willem James had no shortage of flare and humour while leading proceedings. Adding sweet rhythms and even more razzle-dazzle, singers Thamara Songbird and Jenny J swayed the audience. To culminate the awards, a pop-up performance by Sandals’ own entertainment team stirred the crowd, burlesque style.

All awardees received plaques, certificates, monetary rewards, appliances, electronics, and for select categories, complimentary vacations at Sandals and Beaches Resorts.

The evening’s first awardee, winning the Mover and Shaker category, was go-getter and woman of action, Housekeeping Supervisor Kisha Simon. Her colleagues in the rooms division also received special recognition; Doreen Baptiste, laundry manager, was Manager of the Year (MVP); Christine Frank, laundry attendant, won the Founders Circle award and the Department of the Year or “A Team” was the Front Office.

Former winners managed to take top spots again, proving their dedication and consistency. One such individual was Don Cyrus, a butler, who, with the highest number of guest mentions, walked away with the Legendary Team Member Award. Winning the category for the second time, Camille Alexander, spa therapist, received the Money Maker award. Another former winner, Aldith Sabazan, pools supervisor, was honoured with the General Manager’s Pacesetter Award.

Receiving the Hotel Manager’s special award, the Heart of the House, was Maintenance Supervisor Michael Lewis. Earning special mention within the finance department was Receiving Clerk Rawle Antoine, who won the Standing Ovation award from Financial Controller Randy Lewis. Another stalwart and repeat awardee also from finance, who came close to receiving the top award of the night, was Junior Accountant Sophia Skeete, receiving the Platinum Award.
