The Inland Revenue Division (IRD) advises taxpayers that, as part of its ongoing efforts to facilitate the timely activation of GTax accounts, authorised personnel will conduct outreach via telephone calls and emails outside of standard business hours.
Taxpayers may receive calls from IRD officers in the evening, up to 8 pm, while in some cases, emails may be sent on a 24-hour basis.
This initiative is intended to assist taxpayers in completing their GTax account activation ahead of the 31 March filing and payment deadline. Taxpayers can expect that:
- Calls will be placed by authorised IRD officials
- Officers will provide guidance on the GTax account activation process
- Officers will ask questions to verify existing information
Under no circumstances will officers request sensitive information, including passwords, personal identification numbers, or full banking details.
Taxpayers are encouraged to cooperate with IRD officers to ensure timely account activation and compliance with the upcoming deadline. If you have any doubts regarding the legitimacy of a call, you are advised to terminate the call immediately and contact the IRD directly during official operating hours (8 am to 4 pm).
The Inland Revenue Division thanks the public for its cooperation as we work collectively to ensure a smooth and efficient tax filing process ahead of the 31 March deadline.
