The Grenada Sustainable Development Trust Funds Inc. invites suitable candidates to apply for social media and communications internship position.

This internship is open to bachelor/master/postgraduate students who are currently enrolled in a recognized university in an English-speaking member state Caribbean country to fill this position.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

Position Title: Communications and Social Media Intern
Organization: Grenada Sustainable Development Trust Fund (GSDTF)
Duration: 6 months (with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs)
Location: Hybrid with periodic Office and Field Visits, Grenada
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Objectives

  1. To enhance the visibility and engagement of GSDTF.
  2. To manage and grow GSDTF’s social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and the organization’s website.
  3. To support the implementation of the public engagement schedule as outlined in Annual Workplan.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop a visually appealing social media branding kit and content to highlight GSDTF’s activities and achievements.
  2. Implementation of Public Engagement Schedule as outlined in Communication plan.
    1. Social Media Engagement – Execute the social media engagement plan by posting according to the specified schedule.
    2. Media Engagement – Assist in reaching out to local radio stations for interviews and
    3. Support the preparation and dissemination of quarterly press releases.
    4. Public Engagement – Help organize and distribute informational materials for Call for Proposals among key stakeholders.
    5. Education and Outreach – Coordinate with schools to plan and execute programs focused on sustainable development and conservation.
    6. Collaborative Outreach – Assist in planning and executing joint initiatives with other environmental organizations and key stakeholders.
    7. Annual Highlights – Support the preparation and publication of the Annual Report summarizing GSDTF’s activities and achievements.

Qualifications

  1. Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Environmental Studies, or related field.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and content management systems (CMS) for website maintenance.
  4. Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop) is an asset.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  7. Passion for sustainable development and conservation.

Requirements

  1. An intern’s proposal must be approved by the university with evidence provided in the form of an endorsement letter.
  2. Interns will be required to sign an internship contract.
  3. Interns must provide Health Insurance Coverage

Reporting and Supervision
