FOR TROPICAL NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN, CARIBBEAN SEA, AND GULF OF MEXICO
AREA OF SPECIAL INTEREST: 10–20°N AND 40–65°W
Tropical Wave 1:
A central Atlantic tropical wave is near 58°W from 16°N southward, and moving westward near 15 kt. Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is found from 06°N to 10°N between 53°W and 60°W. Based on its current forward speed, the axis of this wave is expected to traverse Grenada later this evening into Wednesday, bringing increased cloud cover and a few showers.
Tropical Wave 2: An eastern tropical wave is near 46°W from 15°N southward, and moving westward at 15 to 20 kt. Scattered moderate convection is seen from 06°N to 09°N between 44°W and 52°W. Tropical cyclone activity is not expected during the next 48 hours.
