The Girl Guides Association of Grenada held its Annual General Meeting on 9 November 2024, under the theme “One World, One Future” marking a significant milestone in its continued mission to empower young women and strengthen community connections.

New Council Leadership (2024-2027)

The association is pleased to announce its newly elected council members:

  • President: Deborah Baveghems
  • Chief Commissioner: Tamara Savoury
  • Vice-President: Ruth Charles
  • Life Vice Presidents: Rachael Mathurine and Maudlyn Baptiste
  • Treasurer: Reins Baptiste
  • Secretary: Sabrina Layne
  • Public Relations Officer: Jesselle Phillip
  • International Commissioner: Atalia Walcott
  • Youth Representative: Gabriella Alexander

Approaching Centennial Milestone

As the Association prepares to celebrate its 99th anniversary on 25 November 2024, plans are underway for a momentous year-long Centennial Anniversary celebration. Since its establishment in 1925, the Girl Guides Association of Grenada has played a pivotal role in developing young women’s leadership skills, confidence, and community engagement.

Future Development

A key initiative for the upcoming term is the construction of a new Guides Hut, which will serve as a dedicated space for current and future members. This facility represents the association’s ongoing commitment to providing safe, supportive environments where young women can develop essential life skills and forge lasting friendships.

About the Girl Guides Association of Grenada

For nearly a century, the association has inspired generations of young women through various programmes, community service, and outdoor activities. The organisation continues to foster resilience, friendship, and service, preparing future leaders who will make meaningful contributions to Grenada and the global community.
