  • Over 31 million passengers visited Caribbean via cruise ships last year
  • Anyone doing or looking to do business with cruise industry can participate in conference
  • Conference attendees develop relationships with approximately 100 executives from FCCA Member Lines

Anya Chow Chung, Chief Executive Officer, Huggins Grenada and Sheldon Alexander, Director, Services Division will be among private sector participants in the 30th Annual Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Cruise Conference and Trade Show, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of Port St Maarten.

Delegates from across the Caribbean region and the cruise industry are arriving in St Maarten for the event that will open on 22 October and conclude on 25 October with a news conference.

This year’s conference, according to the FCCA website, promises impactful discussions, with one of the most anticipated sessions being the Presidential Panel, featuring CEOs and Presidents from leading cruise lines. Michele Paige, CEO of FCCA, and Adam Ceserano, FCCA President, will engage with various stakeholders and key partners as the Caribbean cruise sector takes centre stage.

Over 31 million passengers visited the Caribbean via cruise ships last year; this conference underscores the vital role the cruise industry plays in the region’s socioeconomic development.

The website said that the FCCA conference is designed to foster a better understanding of the inner workings of the cruise industry and help attendees improve their cruise tourism business. “Through a specialised forum that blends meetings and workshops with social functions, attendees have a unique opportunity to develop relationships with, promote products to, and learn from approximately 100 executives from FCCA Member Lines who decide where ships call, what is sold and used onboard and how to invest in destinations and infrastructure.”

Anyone doing or looking to do business with the cruise industry, including ports and destinations, cruise and tourism agencies, tour operators, attractions, suppliers, and ship agents can participate in the conference. George F Huggins/Huggins Grenada is the local agent for most of the cruise ships that berth in Grenada during the cruise ship season.
