For years, commuters travelling on the main road which leads to the Princess Royal Hospital from the town of Hillsborough, and the southern side of the island, complained about the narrowness of the road.
On assuming office in July 2022, Member of Parliament and Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government Hon. Tevin Andrews highlighted the main road as one of the major infrastructure projects to be done.
When work on the road network project commenced, it provided jobs for 3 main contractors and 22 other workers, mainly young people on the island.
Today, work is almost 65% completed with the construction of a retaining wall, new concrete pavement, drains and sidewalk.
