Police in Grenada have formally charged a Trinidad and Tobago national for causing the death of Delvon Thomas on 14 August 2023.
Thomas died because of a shooting incident that occurred at a private residence in the affluent community of Egmont in the south of the island on carnival Monday. Another man was injured as a result of the shooting.
Isreal Farrel, 20 years, Machine Operator, citizen of Trinidad and Tobago was detained during a police raid that was conducted in a house in St John. He was arrested and charged by members of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) with Capital Murder, in connection with the death of Thomas.
A news release from the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) said that in addition to the capital murder charge, Farrel was charged with 4 counts of Attempted Capital Murder; 2 counts of Possession of Illegal Firearms and 2 counts of Possession of Ammunition in connection with a shooting on 20 November 2023, at Woburn, St George.
Farrel is currently at the remand section of the prison at Richmond Hill, and is scheduled to return to court on 19 December.
