CLIENT SERVICES UNDERWRITER
Position Summary
The Client Services Underwriter (Grenada) is expected to be dedicated to providing unfailing support to all stakeholders in the unit to ensure customer satisfaction as well as contribute to the sustainable growth and development of business for Beacon. The Underwriter will have the ability to bind cover up to a specified amount, provide quotes, manage claims and receivables, deal with customer service issues and engage in marketing of Beacon’s services.
KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide timely quotations for all classes of business in keeping with The Beacon’s guidelines and approved Limits of Authority
- Bind Coverage for quotations provided and accept New Business for all classes of insurance in keeping with The Beacon’s guidelines and approved Limits of Authority
- Provide immediate Proof of Cover as may be required
- To provide timely sign-off on all Policy and other Documents as required
- Continuously ensure compliance with all The Beacon’s guidelines, manuals, corporate policies and SOPs
- Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all entries made on The Beacon’s core operating system
- To provide technical advice to Customers, Agents and Underwriters when necessary
- Timely response to all Customer queries and requests
- Complete any job-related function relevant to the Sales and Business Development Division that may be required
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1–6 years experience in general insurance underwriting
- Minimum 5 CXC passes, must include Math and English (no less than a grade 2)
- Certificate of Proficiency or equivalent (GI)
- BDI/CII Cert/AINS or equivalent (GIII)

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT UNDERWRITER
Position Summary
The Business Development Underwriter (Grenada) represents Beacon at our major clients and is the single/first point of contact for the customer representing all aspects of Beacon within the customer base. The Business Development Underwriter will be responsible for key Broker and Customer Account Management including working with Clients to drive profitable results and penetration for Beacon and ensuring excellent customer service and customer satisfaction for our loyal base.
KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To Develop Business through development of relationships and the Marketing of Beacon’s Products across all customers of the Unit as assigned
- Provide timely quotations for all classes of business to Brokers and customers in keeping with The Beacon’s guidelines and approved Limits of Authority
- Bind Coverage for quotations provided and accept New Business for all classes of insurance in keeping with The Beacon’s guidelines and approved Limits of Authority
- Provide immediate Proof of Cover as may be required
- To Provide technical advice to Brokers and customers when necessary
- To deliver all Policy and other Documents to Brokers and customers as required
- Develop Business through improvement of relationships with Brokers and customers
- Complete any job-related function relevant to the Sales and Business Development Division that may be required
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must include Math and English (No less than a grade 2)
- TTII or equivalent national insurance State License (for Grade I–II)
- CII Certificate (for Grade III)
- Minimum of 1 year industry experience
- Minimum 1–6 years technical experience
