In this new world order of things we need outside of the box thinkers to solve future probles as yesterdays solution is just that – yeaterday. Bamboo bikes are a great solutiin to a simple problem. And that would surely put grenada on tje map again. I wonder what happened to that Bamboo bike guy and his dream?
A brilliant local inventor and entrepreneur made an electric bike out of Bamboo (frame) in 2018 or 19 thereabouts. He was thoroughly discouraged and idea shot down by the RGPF as he attempted to get it licensed in order to insure it for testing and use. When I attended GNC (now TAMCC) there was an old Trike built by IFE students which experienced similar treatment. The person who’s name is associated with that Trike project left the island for a developed country, settled there and has done well. Harley Davidson a world renowned motorcycle brand started in a garage building simple bikes that I am sure had many flaws. I can’t help but think that if Harley Davidson was in Grenada it would not exist today. There are reasonable solutions to every concern and as a nation we need to stop accepting NO for an answer when it comes to things that can contribute to our growth as a people.
