The Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA) and the Pure Grenada team recently concluded a successful and enlightening trip to Trinidad and Tobago for their Trinidad Expo.

GHTA CEO Arlene Friday along with key partners of the tourism industry including the Hon. Minister of Tourism Lennox Andrews, Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) CEO Petra Roach, GTA Marketing Manager Nikoyan Roberts, Spice Mas CEO Cecil Noel, several hotels and affiliate tourism members, took Grenada’s vibrant spirit to our regional neighbours.

During this engaging journey, Friday, Roberts and Noel had the honour of being guests on the popular TV6 news channel. In their interview, they delved into the heart of Grenada, sharing the vibrant essence of our island, our promising future in tourism, and the continuous efforts of GHTA and GTA. They promoted the uniqueness of Grenada, and its culture and highlighted the potential of regional collaborations in fostering sustainable tourism growth.

Strategic meetings formed a crucial part of this journey, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to fostering relationships for Grenada’s advancement. One such meeting involved an energetic and productive dialogue with Caribbean Airlines CEO Garvin Medera and Caribbean Airlines Head of Government and Industry Affairs, Aylette Wright-Paul. This meeting served to strengthen the existing partnership and strategise to bring both immediate and long-term successes to Grenada and its tourism industry. Another fruitful meeting involved a collaborative discussion with Trinidad’s Ministry of Tourism representatives and the creation of new significant linkages.

The mission to Trinidad and Tobago provided a wealth of networking opportunities to market and promote Grenada as a leading Caribbean destination. The team not only showcased Grenada’s beauty and charm but also spotlighted accommodations, tourism products, and culinary businesses. Multiple hotels and auxiliary tourism businesses such as Tri-Island Chocolate, Westerhall Rums, Home Hospitality, Mixed by Kimz and Chef Andre Bernard were able to holistically showcase their qualities while garnering the attention of tons of new prospective tour operators and media partners.

This latest initiative is a testament to Grenada’s ongoing commitment to broadening its horizons and pushing the boundaries in the tourism sector. As GHTA and Pure Grenada continue their efforts, they maintain an unwavering focus on Grenada’s bright future, emphasising an immersive experience, sustainable growth, and strategic partnerships.

“Where Grenada goes, we bring the heart of our island with us. This trip was a stepping stone towards forming new strategic alliances, and regional integration while strengthening collaborative efforts with our tourism partners,” said Friday.
