Excellent news! Our country will be well represented at the coronation of our king. This will be a truly historic event, I cannot wait. And on the heels of the new poll showing a solid majority of Grenadians support the monarchy, only right.
Hopefully the prime minister can also use this golden opportunity to meet face to face with Britain’s PM Sunak, to attempt to regain the 92 million dollars in available grants from the UK that Dodgy Doc dithered away.
Represented by a Prime Minister who has openly said he hopes Grenada becomes a republic under his leadership don’t forget!
The commonwealth is nonsense really, in my opinion, but the stability provided by the EC$ is very significant.
Is the Commonwealth paying for this trip or is the taxpayers of Grenada responsible?
Time to do away with this nonsense.
Unfortunately for you and thankfully for this country, a solid majority support the King as our head of state and the monarchy’s place as the guardian of our constitution. The Nutmeg Crown will stand strong for years to come.
A solid majority does not and should not support a King who has not apologised for colonisation and Chattel Slavery. Nor has he or his ancestors attempted to pay reparations to the descendant communuties who experience the legacies of Slavery– unemployment, lack of proper health facilities, high literacy, lack of cultural institutions etc Grenadians will not accept your loyalist assertions that only serve a minority who wish to receive titles from the British. It is HIGH time to ditch the Monarchy to aspire, build and advance as one people. The monarch’s place as the guardian of our constitution? Who is our? We must try to understand History. And we hope the PM’s trip was a recognition of the Coronation not a celebration of it.
