Vocational Skills Training in Grenada ensures that our young men and women develop the competencies they need for work, including interpersonal and problem-solving skills that add value to any organisation, and are appreciated by employers.
Jorell St Bernard joined the team at Randy Persue Electrical Company as an Electrician. Prior to his employment, he started the SkYE supported CVQ Level 2 Certificate in Photovoltaic (PV) Panel Installation (Roofer/Fitter) course at the TA Marryshow Community College (TAMCC).
Randy Persue willingly consented to allow him to continue and complete the programme while being employed. This programme includes courses such as workplace communication, health and safety in PV installation, testing, handling and positioning PV panels and drawing and interpreting sketches and simple drawings among others.
St Bernard is now a full-time Electrician at the company. Randy Persue had this to say, “Jorell is a good addition to the team and works well with others. He had some knowledge of PV installation before joining the team through his course from TAMCC. That was a plus for him to have some knowledge in the field especially since it is a service that our company provides.”
“It was easier for him to understand the deeper concepts and technical aspects associated with PV jobs. I am confident in his capabilities and has made him a Team Leader amongst his work peers.”
