Prime Minister expresses optimism in New Year’s message

Prime Minister, Dr the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell is optimistic about continued growth prospects for Grenada.

In his New Year’s Message, Dr Mitchell said, “As we welcome the new year, it is with great anticipation for what’s to come. Undoubtedly, there are many opportunities ahead.” Referring specifically to the construction sector, Dr Mitchell noted that many private sector projects are scheduled to get underway this year.

Dr Mitchell, who is also the Minister of Finance, said, “This unparalleled level of economic investment by the private sector reveals a very high and increasing level of investor confidence in the local economy and its management, which augurs well for the future development of our country.”

The Prime Minister is of the view that government alone cannot foster sustainable development and he cited a need for a solid partnership with the private sector and workers.

He noted that while the roles of government and the private sector are separate, they are also complementary, in that government creates the enabling environment while real growth must be propelled by activity in the private sector.

The Prime Minister further stated that continued private sector confidence and economic growth can only thrive in a prevailing atmosphere of industrial stability.

    Good afternoon,
I have been trying to contact you via the Grenada website and have been unsuccessful as none of my emails have gone through. I am hoping this may be an avenue to introduce myself and initiate a conversation regarding extending my professional services, skills and abilities within Grenada.

I possess over 25 years working skills and knowledge within Local and Central Government, Youth Justice, Children and Young People and Counselling Services and the Creative Arts.

I am keen to explore the possibility of utilising my professional and academic attributes within Grenada and have recently set up my own business called Creating Together Ltd to actively start facilitate these ideas. I would be keen to have an audience with the PM to discus this, if this is indeed something you welcoming and or desire.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you

    Kind regards

    Shavon Johnson
