The Central Statistical Office (CSO) of the Ministry of Finance and Energy, in collaboration with Statistics Canada will conduct a five-day workshop on Quality Assurance / Generalized Statistical Business Process Models, commencing Monday, 9 February 2015. The workshop will be held at the Grenada National Stadium, Players Level 1 at commencing at 9 am.

The main objective of the workshop is to formulate strategies and linkages with local data producers to produce more timely, relevant and accurate national statistics. This workshop will eventually assist the CSO in improving the level of coordination within the National Statistical System of Grenada.

Approximately 35 participants from various Ministries, Departments and Government Agencies will participate in the workshop.

The facilitators of the workshop will be Ms Laurie Reedman and Ms Lori Stratychuk from Statistics Canada. Ms Reedman is an experienced Methodologist and a member of the United Nations Statistics Department’s Expert Group. She has developed many workshops worldwide on the National Quality Assurance Framework for Statistics. Ms Stratychuk has worked with Statistics Canada since 1995 as analyst on labour issues. She has authored publications on Employment Insurance System and labour market separations. Ms Stratychuk has also worked as a senior methodologist providing support to the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics.

It is expected that coming out of the workshop, stronger working relationships will be created between the CSO and the local data producers to improve the quality and timeliness of the data available locally.
