Min of Education statement on Cuba accident

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA Monday, March 04, 2013: The Human Resource Development Division of the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development has received information regarding an accident on Saturday 2nd March, 2013 involving Grenadian students in Cuba.

  1. The Ministry confirms that a bus carrying students to Camaguey to attend an Independence Celebration Activity was involved in an accident in Santa Clara, Cuba.
  2. Twelve (12) Grenadian students were on the bus and all have been accounted for.
  3. According to information received, the Grenadian students sustained no major injuries except for one (1) student who suffered a broken arm.
  4. Some of the other students received minor knocks and bruises. However the Ministry reiterates that all twelve (12) Grenadians students who were on the bus are accounted for. There are No Grenadian fatalities.

 The Ministry awaits a full report from the Grenadian Embassy in Cuba.
