“The Grenada Bar Association, many of whose members are youthful, is ready to partner with the Government of Grenada, churches, schools and other social partners to help arrange counselling for youthful Grenadians as expeditiously as possible.” So said the President of the Grenada Bar Association Derick Sylvester.

Sylvester was speaking in the aftermath of two youthful Grenadians meeting a tragic end to their lives in less than one week. One of them was a member of the Grenada Bar Association.

Sylvester observes that Grenada needs to affirm and reassure all Grenadians, but especially youthful Grenadians, that Grenada stands ready to be with them; all the more now that socialising is specially needed.

Therefore, the Grenada Bar Association will go all out to join partners in national development in standing in solidarity to help take youthful Grenadians across this moment of challenge.

After reading the comments posted I am convinced that those persons posting these comments does want the problems of the youth to be addressed. If a group of persons regardless of who they are or were they came from decides to reach out to the youth they should be welcome. To those of you who feel differently what’s your contribution to this unyielding problem.

No, I am tired of folks who just talks around the issue but never address the issue.

What happened to unethical lawyers selling illegal lands?

These lawyers should be disbarred. Why don’t writer address this serious issue plaguing Grenada?

Oh. The very expensive elite speak. But “talk” and “conscience” won’t solve such deep-routed social problem.

Why everyone picks on and blame the youths? This approach is tiring and only weak leaders go for the easy low hanging fruits.

Advocate to breakdown colonial barriers that perpetuate the viscous cycle of poverty.

Children/youths did not fall from the sky, they are part of society.

Let’s talk about the social injustice the youths parents have to endure.

Let’s talk about the financial discrimination the youths parents face on daily basis

Let’s the deprived society in the youths and their parents live in Grenada.

Let’s talk about providing a safe place for the youths. Free from sexual exploitation, abuse etc.

Let’s talk about the meager wages the parents of the youths earn.

Let’s talk about the oligarchs that control everything in Grenada.

It’s tiring when the well-to-do talk down from their high armchairs.

Perfectly said. These issues should be included in conversations regarding sustainability. Real sustainability includes economic and social sustainability along with environmental sustainability. It’s time for our people to stop enslaving their own.

Why don’t the very same lawyer tells us how much he pays his staff or folks that works for him?
