Approximately 3 years after Court matters in Grenada began hearing matters via video conferencing because of the Covid-19 pandemic, matters in the High Courts will recommence in-person hearings as of 17 April 2023.

“Take Notice, Her Ladyship, The Honourable Dame Janice M. Pereira, DBE, LL.D, Chief Justice, directs that in-person hearings for the trial of matters in all High Courts of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court shall resume in full by no later than Monday the 17th day April 2023,” said a Notice in the 31 March publication of the Government Gazette.

“Any person requiring clarity in respect of the mode of hearing of their matter should contact the Registrar of the High Court in their Member State or Territory,” said the Notice, which instructs all legal practitioners and members of the public to be guided accordingly.

The video conferencing option in the High Court was introduced due to the physical distancing protocol enforced as part of measures to control and reduce the spread of Covid-19. It also provided for people who are not residing in the country the option to participate in High Court matters virtually via Zoom software.
