A senior public officer in the Ministry of Tourism has confirmed that the post of Head of Marketing at the Grenada Board of Tourism is no longer vacant.

Lana McPhail, Permanent Secretary on the Ministry of Tourism said that Mrs Christine Noel-Horsford was recently appointed to the post in an Acting capacity as of February 01 2013.

In the latter part of 2012, the GBT undertook a series of advertisements for the post. It was not disclosed how many applicants were shortlisted for the post nor the arrangement offer to Mrs Horsford who formerly was the North America Marketing representative for the GBT.

Noel-Horsford who was based in Miami also served as Grenada’s sales and marketing representative in London.

The Grenada Board of Tourism functioned without a Head of Marketing for almost three years. This was of great concern for many hoteliers who felt that the previous National Democratic Congress did not treat the tourism sector with the importance it deserves.
