The senior citizens home in Top Hill Carriacou and the Programme for Adolescent Mother were two of five charitable organisations who were among the first to benefit from the 2013 Christmas season promotions of telecommunications provider Digicel.
Representatives from five charitable organisations received the “Brighten Someone’s Christmas” cheques during the launch of its Christmas promotion on Friday. Held on the grounds at the company’s Point Salines headquarters, the launch was described as “setting the foundation for many more surprises” which will see five weekly winners of EC$10,000 plus giveaways in the form of credits and phones.
“There will be no grand prize winner this year as was done in previous year but this year we have decided to spread it around and there will be five weekly winners who will have to spend that EC$10,000 winnings in 24 hours,” said Kirk Seetahal of the Digicel Grenada Marketing manager. “We are going to give you time for you to decide how to spend the money,” he added.
The other organisations receiving cheques of EC$5,000 at the launch of the Brighten Someone’s Christmas promotions were: Father Mulligan Home for Boys; Health Habits Initiatives and Grenada Patient Kidney Foundation.
Country manager Patricia Maher said that her company regards its customers as family and the promotion’s main objective is to share with the family especially during the season of sharing and caring.
