A 10 member delegation led by Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation, Hon. Yolande Bain-Horsford, attends the 22nd Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Conference & Trade Show from the 5–9 October in Mexico. The team will negotiate and network with senior cruise executives to gain sustainable cruise business for Grenada.
“Our presence at the FCCA conference & trade show every year is crucial to Grenada’s cruise sector. It is important for us to continuously promote Grenada’s unique attributes and new product offerings to the key players in the industry. We will be reviewing customer feedback and discussing potential opportunities for cruise consumer and trade marketing,” said Mrs Nikoyan Roberts, Nautical Development Manager, Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA).
The delegation, which includes officials from the GTA, the Grenada Ports Authority, Huggins, and Tropical Charm Tours, will conduct business meetings with cruise companies including MSC Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, and Norwegian Cruise Line.
The Grenada team is focused on increasing winter and summer cruise calls for the years 2016, 2017, and 2018. In 2014, there were 156 cruise calls which generated over $26 million in revenue; it is projected that there will be 53 more cruise calls in 2015.
