Hillsborough, Carriacou, Tuesday, 6 January 2015: Following the close of registration for artist for the three major competitions for the 2015 Digicel Carriacou Carnival, the committee says it is pleased with the number of artists registering to participate in competition this year.
- Soca Monarch: 26
- Groovy Monarch: 25
- Calypso Monarch: 11
The 2015 Semifinals will be held on:
- Wednesday, 28 January 2015 – Groovy Semifinal
- Saturday, 31 January 2015 – Soca Semifinal
Like last year, there will be no Calypso Semifinal, as only 11 artists have registered for the competition.
The reigning Kings & Queens of the 3 competitions are expected to defend their crowns.
They are:
- Soca Monarch King – Brendon ‘Killa B’ McKie
- Groovy King–Matthew Gold ‘N Thomas
- Joint calypso king/queen – Anderson ‘Leftis’ Matheson and Nashanda ‘Shanda’ Charles.
