Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell extends heartfelt congratulations to the students, athletes, coaches, and staff of the St Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS), following their exceptional performance at the 2026 Intercollegiate (Intercol) Games.

After 3 days of spirited, high-energy competition, SAASS secured first place in both the male and female divisions, emerging as the overall champions of this year’s Games, organised by the Grenada Association of Principals of Secondary Schools (GAPSS).

In the Girls’ Division,

  • 1st Place: St Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS)
  • 2nd Place: St David’s Catholic Secondary School (SDCSS)
  • 3rd Place: St Joseph’s Convent St George’s (SJASG)

In the Boys’ Division,

  • 1st Place: St Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS)
  • 2nd Place: Grenada Boys’ Secondary School (GBSS)
  • 3rd Place: Presentation Brothers’ College (PBC)

The Prime Minister also applauds St David’s Catholic Secondary School and The Anglican High School, winners of the 2026 March Past Display, for their outstanding coordination, presentation, and school spirit.

Prime Minister Mitchell praised the athletes for their discipline, teamwork, and resilience — qualities he described as essential to nation building. “Intercol continues to be one of Grenada’s most unifying, inspiring, and anticipated youth events. The outstanding performances we witnessed over the past three days reflect the immense talent, dedication, and potential of our young people,” Prime Minister Mitchell said. “I congratulate SAASS on their historic achievement, and I also commend every athlete, school, coach, and supporter who contributed to making Intercol 2026 a tremendous success.”

The Prime Minister further noted that the spirit of sportsmanship displayed throughout the Games is a testament to the strength of Grenada’s youth and the continued importance of investment in sports development. He also expressed appreciation to the principals, teachers, as well as the many volunteers, sponsors, and families who ensured a well-organised and safe event.

The Government of Grenada once again congratulates the champions, SAASS, and salutes all participating schools for their outstanding performances and spirited representation of their schools.
