Quality Lab Technician

We are seeking a suitably qualified professional to fill the role of Quality Lab Technician.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of all products through the implementation and monitoring of laboratory testing procedures and standards.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Calibrating laboratory equipment according to the established calibration schedule
- Conducting quality inspections of raw materials and ingredients upon receipt in accordance with the incoming goods programme
- Performing routine and non-routine tests on products and packaging to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Monitoring laboratory processes and maintaining accurate records of tests, results, and reports
- Assisting in troubleshooting production issues related to product quality
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the laboratory and production areas
- Other related duties as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Associate Degree in Science or a minimum of 5 CXC subjects (including at least 2 sciences)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Laboratory Technician
- Good analytical skills and laboratory techniques
- Good problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work without supervision
- Computer literate (Microsoft Excel, Word and Route Centre)
- Knowledge of a Quality Management System would be an asset

Microbiologist Technician

We are seeking a suitably qualified professional to fill the role of Microbiologist Technician.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Microbiologist Technician shall be responsible for coordinating the activities of the Food Safety Team and the company’s adherence to the microbiological process, including but not limited to the coordination and supervision of the activities related to the process. These duties include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and implement activities which directly contribute to the maximisation and maintenance of the quality standards of the company’s products
- Analyse microorganisms using a range of diagnostic methods to record results obtained
- Prepare, review and record technical reports and recommendations based upon research outcomes
- Perform tests on water, beverages, syrup and the environment to detect harmful microorganisms and to obtain information about sources of pollution and contamination
- Determine the appropriate analysis and our investigation corrective actions for all customer complaints received
- Review and interpret microbiological results or observations and provide adequate to the Quality Manager
- Conduct plate readings and identify microorganisms by direct microscopy or external sources, where applicable and report microbiological results to all areas involved
- Record and report the microbiological performance to the Quality Manager through appropriate and well-maintained report templates, which contribute to the strategic planning/decision-making process of the company
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and/or Biology or Food Science
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity with formal training in laboratory techniques and analysis
- Good analytical skills and laboratory techniques
- Good problem-solving and communication skills
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Understanding of ISO Standards and implementation of a management system to achieve operational controls
- Knowledge of a Quality Management System would be an asset
- Knowledge of procedures that address compliance with applicable regulatory and KORE requirements
