The 2025 Margaret Dowe Netball Tournament commences on Saturday, 15 February at 4 pm at the River Road Netball court with a march past and opening ceremony.

The 2025 round-robin tournament is sponsored by Hon. Peter David and NEXA Credit Union. The knock-out tournament component is also sponsored by Hon. Peter David.

Teams are asked to arrive at 3:30 pm to march off at 4 pm from the River Road bridge; the Wesley College Drum Corps will provide the music for the march. The Opening Ceremony commences at 4:15 pm.

Participating teams this year will be Net Stars (defending champion in the Senior division) and Babs Simpson Netball Academy (champion in the Junior division). The following are the new teams: Ace, Boca Ballerz, Crushers, Grace Lutheran, SJC Nutmeg, SJC Clove, Trending Girls and Westmorland. Returning teams are Combined Stars, Dodgers, Dazzles junior and senior, Sprangs Jet Stars, SGU Blue Dynamites, St George’s Institute, Top Strikers and The Unknown.

The tournament will be contested in 3 divisions: Tiny Mites, Juniors and Seniors. There are 3 teams in the Tiny Mites division, 8 in the Junior division and 8 in the Senior division.

In attendance at the opening ceremony will be Camelia Brown, Marketing and Communications Officer at NEXA Credit Union (Sponsor); Hon. Peter David (Sponsor and Parliamentary Representative for the Town of St George); Senator the Honourable Claudette Joseph, Caretaker for the Town of St George who will all make brief remarks. President of Netball Grenada Lebert Alexander will make remarks and declare the tournament open. Joshua Dowe, the grandson of the late Margaret Dowe, will make the first pass to commence this year’s tournament.

Three competition games will be contested following the opening ceremony:

  • Dodgers vs Grace Lutheran in the Tiny Mites division
  • St George’s Institute (SGI) vs Combined Stars in the Junior Division
  • The Unknown vs Boca Ballerz in the Senior Division

The general public is invited to attend.
