The Ministry of Infrastructure advises the public that the Moliniere Road will be opened immediately and remain open for the next 24 hours in the first instance, to allow people to get to the west coast.
The Ministry is urging extreme caution, however, since the road is unpaved.
The opening of the Moliniere road is being employed as a temporary measure because of landslides in the bypass road through Mt Moritz as a result of incessant rain.
