In an effort at helping to keep traditions, community spirit and togetherness alive, the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, through the Cultural Secretariat, has made a major contribution towards the 2024 Dumfries/Six Roads Maroon.

A cheque of $3,000 was presented to community person Mike Adams by Culture Officer Anderson Matheson.

Matheson said that Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government Hon. Tevin Andrews continues to clamour and to give support to the communities to help in the sustainability of the island’s rich cultural heritage.

In accepting the cheque on behalf of the community, Adams expressed his appreciation to the Ministry for the cash contribution and called on others to also give support.

The Dumfries/Six Roads Maroon will be held on 5 April.
