Brandon Hall Dam deliberately tampered with

14 May 2026

The National Water and Sewerage Authority (Nawasa), informs the public that the Brandon Hall Dam was deliberately tampered with today Thursday, 14 May 2026, resulting in the complete release and loss of water from the facility.

Nawasa also wishes to reassure the public that this incident did not affect water quality or contaminate the system.

The Brandon Hall system serves consumers in La Digue, Holy Innocence, Union, Battle Hill, Caruth, The Villa, Harford Village, and Cook Hill, all of whom are expected to experience disruptions to their water supply while recovery efforts are underway. Nawasa anticipates that service restoration will begin once the dam is sufficiently replenished and water can be redistributed to the storage tanks. At this time, however, the authority is unable to provide a definitive timeframe for restoration. An update on restoration efforts will be provided later this afternoon.

Nawasa strongly condemns any interference with the authority’s infrastructure and reminds the public that tampering with water facilities is a serious offence under the Nawasa Act, 1990. Such actions compromise the nation’s water security, disrupt service to consumers, and place additional strain on already limited water resources.

The authority wishes to remind perpetrators and members of the public that anyone found interfering with Nawasa’s facilities may be subject to legal action under the provisions of the Nawasa Act.

At this time, Nawasa is working diligently to restore the system and minimise the impact on affected communities. We appeal to consumers for their patience and cooperation as recovery efforts continue.

Members of the public are also encouraged to report any suspicious activity around Nawasa facilities to the relevant authorities immediately.

Nawasa regrets the inconvenience caused and thanks consumers for their understanding during this challenging period.

Nawasa…Committed to meeting customers’ needs

This is what happens when government after government think our purpose for electing them is to waste our resources to create photo albums for their ministers while they beg foreigners donations for everything.

This is a test run for sabotage and terrorism, election approaching. Is there a Potato-gate connection? Possibly/Probably? For those like myself who came through the Revolutionary era (1979-1983), we are educated on propaganda and destabilization techniques. This was a test run. Next time will be contamination such as poisoning the flow of the “sacred sauce”
I am convinced there is political motive in play.

And what country is flooding Grenada with people and influence? There was a recent Chinese food festival, Chinese money in the airport and stadium, everywhere you look, there they are. Soon it will be Chinada, there is a plan in the works and has been since Ivan.

Whose fault it is that you people at NAWASA left the dam totally unsecured? This shows the fly-by-night operation being run by NAWASA.

We are lucky something worse didn’t happen. We need accountability in Grenada. Someone should be fired for this.
