The Grenada Tourism Authority is the statutory body responsible for marketing Grenada as a tourism destination. The Authority invites applications from suitably qualified professionals, to lead our Accounts Department in its mandate to assist in ensuring public funds are managed responsibly.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Advisory
- Provide sound financial advice and guidance to Executive Management and the Board of Directors
Treasury and Cash Management
- Provide management oversight of cash flow, overdraft facilities, Authority funds, and fixed deposits
Planning & Budget Management
- Coordinate annual budget cycle
- Monitor expenditure and report variances against the approved budget
- Prepare multi-year financial forecasts
Accounting Operations
- Manage daily accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
Financial Reporting
- Prepare regular internal and external monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports and schedules.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
Compliance and Controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, and statutory financial obligations
Audit Support
- Prepare audit schedules and respond to queries from internal and external auditors
Leadership
- Lead and develop the accounts’ function and the accounting department team
Key knowledge and skills:
- Comprehensive working knowledge of Excel and Quickbooks
- Leadership experience in the accounting environment
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Proven knowledge and experience with budgeting and financial controls
- Proven problem-solving and reasoning skills
- Ability to use technology to improve efficiency
Position Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or possess a recognised professional qualification such as the ACCA
- This role will suit an accounting professional with at least 5 years’ experience at a senior level
Monthly salary range: EC$7,000 to EC$10,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
