As Grenada marks its 52nd Anniversary of Independence under the national theme, Grenada at 52: Anchored in Faith. Guided by Purpose, Ariza Credit Union is proud to once again demonstrate its commitment to community development and local enterprise through a Local Vendor Exhibition and Sales Initiative at its Bruce Street branch.

As a homegrown financial institution deeply rooted in Grenadian values, Ariza continues to celebrate Independence not only through patriotic displays but by creating meaningful opportunities for small local businesses to promote, showcase, and sell their products to the wider public.

From 2–6 February, local vendors will be invited to participate in an on-site exhibition at the Bruce Street Branch. The initiative will feature a diverse range of businesses, including culinary arts, crafts, fresh produce, body care products, household items, Independence-themed apparel, and other Grenadian-made goods. The final day of activities will place special emphasis on local dishes, celebrating Grenada’s rich culinary heritage.

This initiative builds on the success of Ariza’s Taste & See Tuesday programme held during the Christmas season, which was met with enthusiastic feedback from both vendors and patrons. Many vendors expressed appreciation for the exposure and sales opportunities, while members and customers welcomed the vibrant, community-centred experience. Encouraged by this response, Ariza is pleased to expand the concept within the context of Independence celebrations.

“At Ariza, supporting local enterprise is part of who we are,” CEO Mervyn Lord shared. “As we celebrate Grenada’s Independence, we are intentional about ensuring that small businesses are given a platform to grow, thrive, and be seen. This is our way of investing in the people and communities that make Grenada strong.”

Ariza Credit Union remains committed to supporting local initiatives in practical and impactful ways. As Grenada celebrates 52 years of nationhood, this initiative stands as another example of Ariza’s dedication to nation-building, community empowerment, and sustainable local development.
