The Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) has entered a new era following a pivotal Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 24 January at the Grenada Olympic Committee (GOC) headquarters.

The meeting concluded with the election of a new executive body committed to advancing the development of swimming in Grenada.

This milestone AGM brought together stakeholders and members of the local swimming community to chart the course for the future of the sport. Central to the agenda was the election of officers who will spearhead critical initiatives, including the much-anticipated procurement of a new swimming pool — an essential resource for athletes and the broader community.

The newly elected executive is comprised of dedicated individuals poised to drive growth, enhance facilities, and foster talent across the island. Their collective vision aims to elevate Grenadian swimming to new heights, ensuring greater opportunities for athletes and strengthening the nation’s presence on the regional and international stage.

With this renewed leadership and clear commitment to progress, GASA stands ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter for swimming in Grenada.

The GASA Board will consist of:

  • Ex Officio — Peron Johnson, who will help ensure a smooth transition and provide ongoing support for the advancement of swimming
  • President — Nataly Regis
  • Vice President — Deb Eastwood
  • Secretary — Ruth Collymore
  • Asst Secretary — Jeannine Sylvester Gill
  • Treasurer — Gwenlian Andrew
  • Asst Treasurer — Rohan Bernard
  • PRO (Public Relations Officer) — Valorie Andrew
  • Floor Members — Dari Twum-Barimah, Stephanie Holmes, Nigel Gresham

Regis, incoming president, is a Grenadian national sports leader whose contribution to swimming spans athlete representation, coaching, competition director, and system development. She has represented Grenada as a national swimmer since 1994, served as a coach since 1997, and acted as an international delegate since 2007 at World and Olympic games, contributing to regional and international sport governance and development. Her work has been instrumental in transforming swimming in Grenada through public school learn-to-swim programmes, water safety, and early talent identification. Her vision for Grenada swimming outlines a clear pathway to success, starting with learn-to-swim programmes, progressing through clubs and membership, advancing to national competitions, and reaching high-performance levels. This approach ensures sustainable athlete development, coaches-driven, officials supported.

Regis expressed gratitude for the outgoing board’s efforts and reaffirmed the board’s commitment to building a new 25-metre, 8-lane pool. She underscored that the realisation of this facility will remain a top priority moving forward.

Expression of gratitude to the outgoing GASA Board

Dear members of the outgoing board,

On behalf of the newly appointed Board of the Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA), we extend our sincere gratitude to each of you for your years of dedicated service and commitment to the development of swimming in Grenada.

Your leadership, time, and voluntary contributions have played a vital role in sustaining the association, supporting athletes and coaches, and advancing the sport at both the national and regional levels. The foundation you have built provides a strong platform upon which we can continue to grow and strengthen GASA.

As we assume our new roles, we do so with great respect for the experience, institutional knowledge, and lessons gained from your tenure. We value your insights and would welcome your continued guidance and support as we navigate the next phase of the association’s development. Your experience will be an important resource as we work to move GASA forward with continuity, integrity, and shared purpose.

Thank you once again for your service to Grenada swimming. We wish you every success in your future endeavours and look forward to continued collaboration where possible.

Yours sincerely,
Current Executive, GASA
